On the road to Trawsfynyd.
Was to meet a bunch of great folks and drive on some terrifying awesome roads!
My journey began by boarding this mid engine beast. The air did feel more humid but the BA seats were way too thin.

But back to the trip. First thing, drop all my stuff and head out to sunny london to do touristy stuff in London.

The weather was great so I ended up walking about 14 miles, zigzagging around.
Saturday was rainy so time to hit the muesums.
I looked to the side to see the most confued woman wondering why I was taking a buch fo shots of this TVR.
The British Museum, and London museum are very cool for a history nerd. .
Sunday, it was time to pick up my mighty steed, an Audi A1, drive on the left for the first time

Monday we took off and headed for the hills. We quickly became seperated into small groups.
That night we all returned after to the lodge.
The innkeeper was a bit miffed, “be honest, how many people are here”
Tuesday we took off for more driving to dam,
And historic Aberystwyth in which one of my favorite lines was said “When you heard you would visting historic Aberystwyth, did you picture yourself in a Mcdonalds parking lot?’
By now the roads were starting to take their tolls. Note rubber band tires + soft muddy shoulder don’t do well together.
What it felt like. Onwards we pushed, in a group with a 5 series, Twingo, and Elise.

Wednesday we took off for Snowdonia and passed some stunning scenery along the way.
Thursday we passed more stunning scenery and went go carting.
Note: if go carting, turn off your GPS tracker

Oh yeah Our Airbnb came with a cat!
On friday we took off and OH MY GOD SO MANY MORE SHEEP!
It was after regruping we each parted on our ways.
I was heading north to Scotland.
I was asked what I had spent.

Hotels: $500
Random (gas, food, admission to attractions) $500

Helluva cheap trip! How did you get a summer airfare so cheap? Or was this a while back? Lots of bare trees, so it’s hard to tell.
Looks like you got to see a lot in a short time. I love driving on the left, but not sure I could do it with a nice E39 ;)

Shoulder season is the best. A lot less tourists, smaller crowds, better prices.

I’m pleased you enjoyed the trip! Sorry if I came across too direct/blunt, it’s the Dutchman in me, I don’t know any better.
Any advice you’d have for others (North Americans particularly) who are reading this and are contemplating joining one of our future trips?

Not yet. I was holding off as a few companies have restrictions on what countries they allow to enter.

Ah makes sense, did not know they did that. I can hardly imagine they would have a problem with Slovenia though, but then again rental companies don’t always have the most logical reasoning.
